Minecarts disappearing

I have had several hopper minecarts and one chest minecart just disappear while playing the game. Each is on a separate short loop type track of less than 50 blocks total length. The most recent disappearance was when two went missing from under my pumpkin farm after I had logged out of Realms. When I logged back in a couple of hours later the hopper minecarts were gone.
