Leaf blocks on jungle trees start to decay if you remove a single leaf block causing an update

If you do anything to a jungle tree to cause it to update then the outer most leaf blocks will begin to decay. Frustrating when your growing your own forest and you have to climb every tree and set extra blocks around just to keep the canapy. Please help😢
