No spawning squids

Hi! Me and my friends had played on a server for years in PC Java edition 1.5.2 and now I have successfully transfered the world to bedrock edition on my xbox one. But now my world has generated a bit strange (this I can understand) but the strangest part is that there doesn't seem to be any squids spawning in any waters. If I open up a new world, the squids will spawn as normal. I have not yet tried switching to creative since I don't want to disable achievements.

Is there any way you can help me?
