Monster spawner stopped spawning mobs

Ive started a realm on minecraft better together, for a while i had a monster spawner i found setup as an xp grinder, but one day the spawner stopped working, ive put it on hard mode normal mode and easy and nothing. I think it started when i made my world into a realm but i cant remember correctly if thats true or not
