Minecraft won't work altogether with wifi turned on.

So this has been happening to me for at least a year and a half, no updates have fixed it. I have an IPad and every time I click on minecraft Pe with my wifi turned off, it works normally. If I turn it on, Minecraft either stays at a white screen or crashes. I can't play online because of this. PLEASE HELP!
