Texture pack reset every time game is loaded

When loading up the game each time I am currently have to reselect the texture pack I use, otherwise it loads with the default.

When you go into texture packs what you have selected is already there but you have to click into it then out again. When you then go back to the main menu it will change to the texture pack you have chosen.
