When I try to type my keyboard just blocks my way so idk what I’m typing I have to look to see what I wrote [ios]

It happens when I got iOS 11 I can not see my screen or what I’m typing which makes me frustrated, so I have to keep tapping “return” and see what I’ve typed pls fix this bug.
I got an IPad Mini 2.
