Any item in the creative item menu free

(Quick side note, I am using an IPad gen 5 it wasn’t on the list so I chose 4)
What happens is when I open a crafting table and open the item list for crafting recipies, I click on one and if I don’t have a material for it I can click it then click another spot and the material simply appears. It is an exploit where, if you wanted to, be able to get any item in the game as if you were in creative.
