Mob spawn rate too low in hard mode

As of the 1.2.6 update, the spawn rate of hostile mobs in hard mode is laughable - it's like playing on easy. Please revert the spawn rate to it's previous level or introduce a new level of difficulty that allows mobs to spawn at the higher rate.
