Parrots disappear or die when exiting Nether

Pushed 4 parrots through a nether portal. Once in the nether put 2 on my shoulders and went to my base portal. There I again pushed them through the portal into the overworld. Went through myself and parrots were simply gone.

Did this twice, same thing happened both times.

Tried an hour later with 2 cats, (1 at a time) worked just fine.
