Text box doesn’t show up

I was playing on my iPad mini 3 and when I click the chat button, and I click the little text box so the keyboard can show up, the keyboard shows up but it covers the text box so I can’t see what I’m typing. And, the text box itself doesn’t move up like it should so I can see it.
