MCPE glitch! Controls won't show up!

Ok, so one day, I decide to play minecraft. I join the game, and boom , controls are gone. This make its almost impossible to play as you cannot see the controls, health, chat, or settings options. I cannot go into the creative inventory, either. My only other option is to delete and re-download MCPE, but that would mean loosing all of my worlds (one that I have been working on for a year), and I really would not want to do that. I have reported this on a review to the app 3 times, though it has not been addressed. Also, I would like to say I'm just in first person, not F5 or anything, as I have provided proof. Thank you!
