Duplicating beacons

I mined a beacon with an iron, silk touch 1 pickaxe and once the beacon broke it dropped 2 beacons. Everytime I harvested the beacon I would profit 1 beacon. I ended up getting 11 beacons. I recorded a clip of it on Xbox one if that'll help.
