Main menu hangs upon disconnecting from a server

When I disconnect from a server, the UI becomes unresponsive for a considerable period of time before returning to the main menu.

Google Pixel running Android 8.0.0
This is also the case when using Xbox and Windows 10.

A possible cause of this is poor resource handling. See attached logcat output for stack traces.
