fire doesn't burn fences wooden slaps stairs crafting table or chest

What I expected to happen was...:
the fire to burn all wood type blocks

What actually happened was...:
it only burnt down the wood block but nothing else

and i have no idea how the fire started
there wasn't any lava near wood and i wasn't using flint and steal

sorry if this was already posted. i tried using the browse for bugs but it was very confusing and not very friendly to use
