converting xbox one worlds overwrites old terrain and work and replaces it with new terrain

When converting old worlds from mc: Xbo edition to the new edition called "Minecraft" it deletes all the stuff I've built and replaces it with new terrain. It actually disects one of my structures in a desert biome and replaces it with sea and islands. It was a pyramid now its a ramp that launches you into the sea.
