Can't play, game crashes instantly

Since the last update I have not been able to play the game. I get on and choose my saved world, it loads but I only walk for about 10 seconds before it crashes. Is there a fix yet for the older iPads? Surely I can't be the only person with this problem. Some help would be much appreciated.
