Opening inventory with controller covers screen and hangs

When using an Xbox One S controller on my Lumia 640, opening the inventory again causes the title menu background to cover everything. You can still hear mobs go about their business but I cannot hear interactions I attempt, so I assume controls aren't responding. That or I can't hear myself anymore. Switching apps and back shows the pause menu with fragments of more pause menus behind it. Resuming game brings back the background. Cannot be replicated on Android, I got the latest patch and downloaded music before it started happening. Pretty sure it's the patch though .
