Splitscreen Player Progress

I play Minecraft splitscreen with my sister on my Xbox One. For some reason, whenever she saves and logs out, she will either loose all of her inventory and xp, or it will reset her to the progress/ xp/ inventory she had hours earlier the next time she logs back in. Its a really bothersome issue and making the game a lot less fun to play at the moment.
