Kindle Fire better together cannot join on same Wi-Fi network

I have 2 kindle fires... (twin children playing) since the update to 1.2.1, one child can join the other while playing on the same Wi-Fi network, but it does not work in reverse.... child A can join child B, but B cannot join A... is there some new setting that I'm missing?
