Cross-platform Minecraft v1.2.1 - Cannot 'Quick Move' items in chest/inventory/quickbar if you 'Take Half' first

In the XBox 360 and XBox One Editions we are able to 'Take Half' of items in chests/inventory/quickbar and 'Quick Move' the remaining items. This is not possible in the new cross-platform edition - instead, the items you took are now dropped. (I also don't understand why the 'Drop' command while in the chest or inventory is different from the 'Drop' command in the quickbar.)
