Realms Connectivity Issue on a non-home Xbox One

My wife and I have two Xbox Ones. Realms will only function if the corresponding account is logged on to its respective Home Xbox One. If I try to use Realms on her Xbox one, or vise versa, a message appears stating: "We could not connect to Realms right now. We will try again soon." If I return to the Minecraft start menu and select "change user" and select the user that matches the Xbox as its own "Home Xbox", realms will connect with no issue.

Note: Both Xbox live accounts own Minecraft. The issue is the same on both Xboxes.
