Block reach when using a controller is too short

Say you're playing survival and are making a wall that's 4 high, on touch controls you can do that without jumping down how ever if you plug in a controller you have to either jump down every time or make a 2 high wall then another 2 high wall on top of that one to get the 4 high wall
