Maximum of 6 render distance

*NOTE: I am playing on the iPad 2017, also known as iPad 5. There was no option for this, so I selected iPad Pro. *

Whenever I downloaded 1.2, I noticed my render distance was short. So I went into video settings, but I could only get a maximum of 6 render distance. I couldn’t figure out why this was happening, so I deleted some worlds and resource packs. At first, this resolved the issue and I was able to use 14 render distance. But now, for some reason it has gone back to 6.
