Enchanted diamond shovel not working properly

My enchanted diamond shovel with efficiency 4 will only clear one block at a time when I hold down the left trigger. I have to keep pressing it to clear blocks. When I switch to a regular iron shovel, pressing down the left trigger clears them like normal.
