Earning Achievements in Creative Mode

When playing the new version of MInecraft if you make a realm then activate cheats while inside the realm world you can switch your game mode to creative and for some reason still get achievements. This works on the Xbox One and Android Mobile version of Minecraft so far that I have tried out.
