PC Minecraft Beta will not connect to console Minecraft Beta (Better together update)

I tried connecting my PC version of Minecraft Beta (Better Together Update) with the console (xBox) Minecraft Beta (Better Together Update), and I was unsuccessful. I could not see that my friend's console. I could see that he was online and that he was playing Minecraft, but I could not join his game.
