2nd play food bar glitched in splitscreen

Every time I play split screen the second player food bar glitches to full with 4 empty spaces and won't allow to be filled. While you can play knowing that minus 4 food is full its hard to tell when your food bar actually starts to deplete and when you are able to eat. This is sorta problematic when you need food to heal but can't eat.
