Items duplicate on multiplayer

When playing on multiplayer, and 2 players open a chest and try to grab the same item at the exact same time, both players will get the item, thus duplicating the item. As an example, if there is a stack of iron ingots in a chest, both players try to grab it at the same time, the players will have a stack of iron each. This happens on LAN, although I'm not sure if it happens on other networks.
