Background is Extremely Laggy

After I updated Minecraft PE to 1.2.0.18 (1.2 build 6), I noticed that the background was very laggy. It was running smoothly on the previous beta builds, but now it is very laggy. I played on a world to check if the lag also affects the gameplay, but it doesn't. The background only lags everytime I enter Minecraft PE.
