Please make normal controllers compatible with minecraft windows 10

Please make normal controllers compatible with the minecraft bedrock edition, I have many old controllers and would like to play with them but instead do I really have to go and buy specifically an xbox controller. Please make them compatible. I know this is not a bug but a suggested feature from me. Please reply in the comments
