Target selectors are not fully working (Specifically @r)

When using this command "/execute @r[type=cow] ~ ~ ~ setblock ~ ~5 ~ stone" it doesn't select a random cow like it should. It selects the cow that has most recently been spawned in the world (The youngest cow). Pls fix, my device is a Samsung Galaxy Tab A, Thnx!
