game crashes when play button is pressed while device is offline

When the device is offline, and you press the play button, the game crashes or freezes. I am playing MCPE on Samsung Galaxy S7. In order to reproduce it, you need to make sure that the device is not connected to wifi, launch minecraft and press the play button (the game should freeze or crash).
