Stall joining another world with XBOX Live

When I attempt to join a friends world using XBOX Live, the load stalls on "syncing pack with server" ( over 10 min wait). Using my iPad iOS 10.3.3 as client and Windows 10 as server. They are connected to the same LAN. This had worked a couple of days ago. Recently the MineCraft PE changed to 1.1.4.

Note, I can join the world if I put the IP address of the server in a join link. Also double checked ports 19132 is open on router firewall.
