Villagers don't pick up crop items

Sometimes villagers won't pick up crop items, they will just stare at it and if I try to make them pick it up by pushing them into the item they still won't pick it up and they stare until I hit them or I pick up the item, and one time I saw villagers trading bread but the villager that was supposed to get the bread did the same thing and sometimes the villagers ignore the crops I place down and when the crop is fully grown the villagers just leave the crop there. Please Fix.
