Minecraft PE for Kindle crashes

The latest version of Minecraft pocket edition keeps crashing on my kindle fire. I can't change anything in settings and when I hit the Play button, it kicks me out! When are these problems going to be fixed? I can't play at all now and I paid good money for it!
