The stars rise and set in the wrong direction

The sun and moon rise and set in the correct direction (rise in east and set in west), however the stars still rise and set in the wrong direction (rise in south and set in north).
How to replicate
Do /time set night (or /time set 13000), then get a repeating command block. Type in the command /time add 5 (or any number higher to make it noticeable), set it to "always active," and let the command run, then you should see it.
