Unable to Connect on 1.1.2

my friend and i have the same version minecraft but he plays on android and i play it on Win-10 so PC. With Xbox live he can join my world but i can not join his world and his world does shows up on the friends/server list. When i try to join his world it says unable to connect. It says the same thing when he sends me a invite to play.
