Mobs super fast

Sometimes (it seems to be in certain areas of my world and not others) all the mobs – regular sized zombies, skeletons and creepers – get super super fast, like baby zombie speed or faster. I just got run down by two adult zombies, and I was riding a very fast horse at the time.
