Everything is gone

All GUIs, blocks and entities are invisible. The GUIs still work, just invisible. The only thing that I can see is the clouds. I used the invisible GUIs to exit the world by remembering button placement and got a black screen afterwards. I suspended the app to report it and when I came back, I t had fixed itself
How did this happen
I was flying down and forward when I was hit by a piston
