MCPE Crashing on Kindle Fire

I downloaded the Minecraft Pocket Edition update 1.1 on my Kindle Fire on 6/3 and Minecraft will not work. It crashes each time it is opened. It shows 0.0 MB for Global Resources. I have tried to reinstall on 2 different kindles. Please let me know how this can be resolved. Thank you.
