Game crashes when opening chests, hoppers and enchantment tables

Since installing update v1.0.7 on my android tablet
In my survival world EVERY time i try to open ANY chest, look in ANY hopper or use ANY enchantment table the game crashes. Has rendered the game completely unplayable and useless. Please help!!
I have lost several valuable items due to this bug...
Device is a chuwi hi8 pro tablet, which i have been playing online with my son for the past 6 months, without any issues,while I've been out of town working, until this update was installed. We can no longer play together due to this bug. Any help would be greatly appreciated
