Iron ore, iron and buckets disappearing

At seemingly random intervals, iron ore, iron and empty buckets disapper from my inventory. A few times the game just exits and it happens then, however it also happens on its own, usually when im near furnaces (could be wrong, but that's when ive notice it on multiple occasions).
