Torch Placement

When you face a specific direction and place a torch, the torch seems to be placed along another adjacent block, if it is adjacent. In the pictures provided, I attempt to place a torch on the highlighted block, but it ends up on the other block! Please fix this, it's annoying. It bothers me a lot! Thank you.
