Skins and my Xbox live don't work

My custom skins don't work when I choose the skin I like it just goes black and switches to Alex skin and my xbox live account doesn't work i will put in my info and it will load and then I'll look and it will say sign up I'm on a kindle fire hd 8 is this normal for one to have
