Unable to join server

When trying to join a server, it has the blank dirt screen for a while, then it says a message "Unable to connect to server" with an "OK" button underneath it, although someone next to me using the same WiFi could connect to it. I used to be able to connect to servers perfectly fine. (Maybe my connection was bad)
