can't get security code to log in first time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm trying to create a profile for my daughter and when I went to log into and create a new microsoft account for her the security code never came through. I then put in my e-mail address to check it and it still never came through and now I can't change her username back to the correct one!!!
