Chunks appearing randomly

Chunks are progressively appearing over my building. Each time I load the world it gets worse. Previously my world was working fine, but today, once starting to play with texture packs, it became wacky. It started with just one chunk, which was easily demolishible, after closing and reopening the world many chunks lay above my building.
