the game always crashes or closes the second I go to open an existing world or create a new one.

Upon opening Minecraft windows 10, I can navigate through the settings, skins, texture packs, etc. as normal, but the game closes out completely the second I attempt to open a world or create a new one. This has been happening with every update since 1.0, and since I can't find any information about it online, I am unsure as to whether anyone else is experiencing a similar issue.
