Partially picking up items from a dropped stack does not play a sound

Summary:
Partially picking up items from a dropped stack (I don't necessarily mean 64, the main thing is that the items are dropped visually "together") does not play a sound.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Fill your inventory with sticks, excluding the armor slots and the left hand slot, plus one other slot of your choice.
2. Drop 64 white dye items in one place.
3. Place 32 white dye into your empty slot.
4. Pick up (in survival) previously dropped white dyes.

Observed results:
You don't hear the sound of picking up items.

Expected results:
You hear the sound of picking up items.
